what’s in a name?
Beneath it’s protective, prickly exterior, the cactus is a magnificent plant. It’s ability to stand up & survive harsh conditions is not unlike the survival ability of a human. The cactus can remind us that humans too are capable of such strength, endurance, and adaptability.
This is what inspired the name, Wild Cactus Therapy. If we choose to embrace our ‘prickly’ parts, like those of a wild cactus, we can do more than just survive, we can actually begin to thrive.
Sometimes, people seek out therapy because they feel ‘stuck’. ‘Stuck’ can happen when we neglect to try to understand and accept our authentic selves. We may not be happy with all of our ‘parts’, yet failure to acknowledge any of them can lead to that impossibly difficult ‘stuck’ feeling.
Perhaps a solution for becoming ‘unstuck’ is a willingness to recognize and place a value on every part of ourselves, ‘prickly’ and all, and begin to work with them, rather than against them.
Of course, therapists are humans too, and we at Wild Cactus Therapy are willing and ready to share our ‘thorns’ with you. We want our therapy to be real and ‘Wild’.
