Growing up in the Chicagoland area, I was always a little confused about what I wanted to be when I grew up. At Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Anthropology and French. After spending a handful of years in the corporate world, I realized I wanted to do something to meaningfully engage with people every day. That decision led me to get my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois. I then made my way to DFW to start my PhD in Counseling at the University of North Texas. My friends back home now refer to me as a BBQ snob.
As a therapist, I place a unique focus on the relationship between me and my clients. Connecting with another person in a genuine way is so essential to how we function and heal as humans. To foster this connection, I show up as authentic, accepting, and always ready to share a laugh. I work from an approach that combines Existentialism and Constructivism, which means I provide a supportive space to encourage clients to explore life and its challenges, find meaning, and live life authentically.
I enjoy working with adults of all ages and backgrounds. My goal is to support clients as they deal with life transitions, identity concerns, relationship concerns, anxiety and depression. I believe that therapy should be an empowering space and I strive to be affirming for women and the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. I am honored to be a part of my clients' journeys.
If I’m not with clients or in class, you can find me out on walks with my dog Coconut, reading (for fun), re-watching all my favorite movies way too many times, or exploring Fort Worth and the rest of North Texas. Nothing makes me happier than finding a new favorite restaurant or coffee spot.
