Meet Maddy
supervised by Marie Gray LPC-S Tx Lic #71945
Growing up, I never knew what I wanted to be. During my time at Texas Tech University pursuing my Human Development and Family Studies degree, I found that I wanted to help people but didn’t know what that looked like. After graduation, I knew I wanted to pursue a Master’s in Counseling but was not ready to go to graduate school to make this a reality.
For the past nine years, I have been working in the corporate world until the pandemic gave me time to reevaluate my values and goals. This led me to graduate school where I am currently pursuing my counseling dream.
I take a client centered and compassion focused approach and find that helping create a safe space is crucial for the counseling process and helps to welcome authenticity and vulnerability. I believe that counseling is a collaborative effort and best met with compassion and a little bit of humor mixed in.
I work with teens and adults of all ages and backgrounds who are navigating life transitions, experiencing grief, anxiety, and relationships. I am an ally & proudly inclusive of the LGBTQIA+ community and strive to create a safe and empowering space for all clients to be their genuine self.
In my free time you’ll find me on a patio outside with my friends and family, or nose deep in a book I’m currently obsessed with, and I’m typically blasting music wherever I am with my dog, Bear, close by.
