A dog mom to one spoiled Boxer. Lover of wide open spaces & accepting challenges. Aspiring gardener & succulent grower (although we have aways to go). Believer in dancing around the kitchen while cooking & driving with all windows down.
From Boston to Austin to Ft. Worth, I received my Bachelors at Smith College and my Masters in Counseling at UT Austin. I’ve been in Texas, soaking up every 100 degree day, since.
As a therapist, I specialize in young adults and Type 1 Diabetes counseling. My approach seems to fit best with those wanting to work through life transitions, anxiety, and finding their voice. I work from a client-centered approach using Cognitive & Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and always a little bit of humor. I tend to have a more direct approach with my clients, while being a supportive resource & providing a safe space. My main focal points for my clients are, empowerment and authenticity. Watching clients find their strength & voice is one of my most loved parts of my job.
Since becoming Owner & Clinical Director at WCT, I now take clients on an “as needed basis” and typically focus on short term therapy & consulting. I am happy to consult on a 20 minute phone call to see if we are a good fit, or to help find a therapeutic fit with another Wild Therapist.
As a Supervisor, I enjoy empowering new therapists to find & trust their voice & learn the freedom in authentically showing up in their sessions. I primarily use the Integrated Development Supervision Model along with the Systemic Supervision Model. I believe the power in supervision is rooted in the Supervisor and Supervisee relationship & dynamic. I believe in active & directive supervison where the supervisee is challenged with deliberate and development-minded given tools. Watching a new associate gain confidence in who they are as a therapist is the part I appreciate about being a supervisor most.
